In-N-Out Burger Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas
Last year when California’s In-N-Out Burger announced they were expanding outside their home state, including our state of residence in Texas, more than a few eyebrows were raised. The fact that last week the first opened was exciting for both those who have loved their burgers and those who have only heard the legendary stories of the fast non-fast tasting food and the secret menu. The location…Frisco Texas? Now nothing against Frisco, but the location aside, we thought In-N-Out would have chosen Big D or our own Fort Worth. Heather was curious, but skeptical. I was guarded in my praise as it has been a few years since I have had it. It IS fast food after all. It was only fitting that we try it out. One week in, we ventured out to Frisco. And we can report, the lines are still long. Our vehicle was ushered to a holding area to wait to get in line for the drive thru…and a relatively painless half hour lately, we were holding our order. A burger plain and dry, a cheeseburger with lettuce tomato grilled onions and ketchup, two orders of fries and a chocolate milkshake. Simple, under ten dollars and, well…
I think it passed the Heather test. She smiled as she took her bite, proclaiming “now this is a good burger!” She also approved of the fries and the shake. We miss our west side Purple Cow, but if the food and service we experienced translates to the soon opening Fort Worth location, In-N-Out Burger will stay top of the heap in our love of the all-American burger.
