Friday Day Date
I had the pleasure of taking my stellar wife on a day date. A new wrinkle in the work schedule allows me every other Friday off work, and what better way to kick off the beginning of the summer to autumn transition than a day about town. With our little Volvo, back from a little trip to the repair shop…the day was back on track. A leisurely morning, a lunch with tomato soup/potato galette/bread w/butter & jam, then off to a stroll about downtown near the Flat Iron Building, then to the Kimball Art Museum followed by the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. Let us say, the Amon Carter has really become a great museum in recent years. And let us complement their newer approach of the docents giving you a proper amount space and making you feel comfortable. This isn’t always the case with museum docents. So, thanks again to the Amon Carter to listening to suggestions!
The afternoon slid into evening with quality time with Emory and perusing the new issue of Anthology, a lovely quarterly magazine that is so inspiring. The day kept going with one last birthday dinner at Brownstone with family, and then Heather found and purchased a new two wheeled addition to the family.
Some days, life surprises you with a peace and beauty that makes it all worth it.
